Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the actuarial operations of Fort Dearborn Life and Colorado Bankers Life.
- Member of Product Development Board; ensures the completion of pricing, design, and profit testing for all insurance and annuities products
- Responsible for annual certification of FDL’s reserves
- Responsible for profitability monitoring and measurement – reviews and works with senior staff as to analysis and implications
- Responsible for annuity valuation and pricing – as a member of the Asset Liability Meeting sets interest rates and reviews product performance
- Reviews asset and investment strategies with appropriate areas and monitors performance and implications
- Performs pricing and rate reviews of all large group cases prior to issuing approval
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree
- 10 years experience in actuarial operations and management
- Clear and concise interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Executive management skills
- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries – FSA preferred
